Posted 3-21-16 I remember moving to West Lafayette the summer of 1962 when my dad retired from the Army and started working at Purdue. Well here I am 54 years later still living in the area. Following graduation I started at Purdue, quit and worked for a number of years before going back and getting my degree from Purdue in Management in 1980. Only 10 years late! I worked as an accountant at Caterpillar for 22 years, retired, worked for Purdue until January 2015. I still keep busy as the Washington Township Trustee, a position I have held since 2011. I married my John Knochel in 2007 and we live on a small farm in northeast Tippecanoe County near Buck Creek. I love living in the country. It’s amazing what a city girl can learn given the opportunity. While we don’t have any livestock of our own anymore our tenants have three horses and two calves. The best of both worlds, I get my fix but don’t have to feed them. John and I both enjoy good health and play golf (if you could call it that) and travel when we can. There is so much I want to see and do while we are able and have the means to do so. You never know how long that opportunity will exist. I have really enjoyed working on the class reunions and this year was even a bigger challenge since we hadn’t gotten together for 10 years. So many people have moved and/or gotten rid of landlines it’s been more of a challenge. Through a lot of sleuthing we have managed to find almost everyone. It's been fun talking to people after 50 years. Looking forward to seeing everyone June 24-25th |
