The photo is a couple years old, but it's not easy to get everyone to stand still for long. I'm the tall one in the back in case you couldn't pick me out. My wife Gloria and I recently celebrated our 47th anniversary and are blessed to have a wonderful family. A son Scott and his wife Lori, our daughter Kimberly and granddaughters Abby, Hannah and Emma.

It's difficult to comprehend fifty years have passed and try to imagine the roads we've traveled.  My family moved to Kokomo shortly after graduation. I stayed behind in WL and lived with the Dobson's. Tom and I had very lucrative summer jobs lined up with the street department so his family invited me to stay. What were they thinking! Four boys in their home for the summer Jim, Tom, Rob & me... Good Times!

After a year at Purdue I moved to Kokomo with my family. This turned out to be a good thing because that's where I met Gloria. I worked in the Chrysler plant that summer and decided I liked the money more than school. After about 18 months, I did return to college at Tri State for the winter quarter. Then my road took a turn. The government decided my education was taking too long so I was drafted. So I figured that would also be a great time to get married and we did. After two years in the Army, 19 months in Germany we returned to Kokomo with Scott in tow. Now I needed a job and had no desire to go back in the factory. I went to work for Public Service Indiana(now Duke Energy) as a lineman. After 35 years I retired. Never imagined that move to Kokomo would turn into nearly 40 years there.

Our children were out of college Scott(Purdue) Kim(IU/Kent State) and all living in Fort Wayne. Gloria and I knew those two little girls and one on the way needed Grandma and Grandpa closer. We moved to a lake home north of Columbia City 20 minutes from Ft. Wayne. It's been great and we have made wonderful memories here watching the girls grow up. As you can imagine summers are very busy here and we love it!

Sorry if this was a little long, but 50 years is a little long. Looking forward to seeing everyone in June.
