Man, 50 years is a long time, and it went by awfully fast! I have lived an adventure. The summer we graduated I went to Alaska for six weeks (thanks Connie for setting that up) and have stories about driving the Alaska Highway that will bore you for hours.

Went to IU, got married my junior year, got an ROTC scholarship, graduated in 1970 and was talked out of going directly to Vietnam. Volunteered for Vietnam duty one year later and my orders were cancelled two weeks before I left Germany. I had Infantry and Armor assignments in southern Germany, Kansas, Korea, Texas, Colorado, California, Missouri, Washington State and Georgia.

I got home long enough to have three kids but got divorced after 10 years. Three years later I married a lady from New Mexico (Jeanene) who has been my rock for 34 years. She had three teenage boys to add to my two girls and a boy, so it has been crazy (11 grandkids) at my house over a couple of holidays. The Army sent me to school to get a Master's Degree in Organizational Development which has proven to be something I use every day that I go to work. After 20 years of moving around I was a LTC that had four kids in college and they wanted to send me to Panama, unaccompanied, for 18 months. I told them I had had enough. I retired the day "Desert Storm" started! They called me up six weeks later and asked if I wanted back in. I said NO.

We have stayed in the Kansas City area since I retired because we are centrally located for all of our kids that keep moving around. I took a hobby interest of investing and have turned it into a retirement planning practice for middle-class and upper middle-class people. I have about 350 people whose money I manage and give them financial advice about retirement issues. I am trying to work less, but still work four days a week. I absolutely love what I do and am healthy, so I guess I will keep at it for a while.

Last time I was in WL was 30 years ago, so I will be following my GPS to find you all in a couple of weeks.
