About the same year as Woodstock, I put an end to the explaining of spelling and pronunciation. All who have known me since know me as Paul Quinn. Leaving Purdue with a chemical engineering degree, I worked at Proctor and Gamble long enough to get my bearings, and entered the University of Tennessee college of medicine in 1980. Taking my training in nephrology and internal medicine to Texarkana in 1989, my associates and I provided patient care and dialysis support to the region until I retired from full time practice in 2011.

My new calling is short term medical missions, most recently at Tenwek Mission Hospital in Bomet, Kenya with Samaritan’s Purse, and Asociacion Medica Quirurgica de San Raymundo in Guatemala. Since physician volunteers with SP must maintain an active license in their home country, I continue to practice as a part time hospitalist at Wadley Regional Medical Center.

My wife Christine got her degree in fine arts at Stephens College, and worked for MGM in Hollywood before repurposing as a radiation technologist. We met running through the woods with the Hashhouse Harriers in Memphis, Tennessee. We have a married son Cameron and daughter-in-law Alaina.

I continue to run, and currently ride a Harley Davidson VRod. They will build one for you, too. I shoot ‘cowboy action’ in the frontiersman and black powder cartridge categories at the Badlands Bar 3 in English, Texas. Hey, every man is permitted one folly- this is mine.

Sorry I’ll miss the reunion. I hope your journey has been as much fun as mine. Ephesians 2:8
