Posted 4/3/16 I could title this "Things that Make Me Cringe". That is, if I remember and think about the girl I was in 1966. So. I will not remember her, will not think. I have had a contented life since 1966. Weathered the roller coaster. Produced three (pat on my back) human beings, all of whom are interesting people to cafe sit and drink coffee with (no, wait, make that a margarita at the Rio). Planted gardens. Secretly perpetrated a lot of laughter. I am not a stand up comedian. I am not a cartoonist. I am (since 1974) a person who writes gags. This behind the scenes, surreptitious (do not confuse this with syrup which I did once and never really got the stickiness off) profession conforms to my nature. I am a mousey, bland, chubby woman who craves silence and solitude. I quietly write gags which when illustrated find their way to cartoon strips and then office doors, bulletin boards, sides of computers, refrigerator art galleries. I do not know if I am coming to the glasses-slipping-down-on-the-greasy nose heat of Indiana in late June this year. I wish you all well and fondly remember those of us who have died. I cannot use "passed" = "died". What is life--some sort of test that is to be "passed"? No thanks. I am not sitting for that exam! Hugs and Kisses Jean |
