Posted 5/8/16 Hello to everyone! It is hard to summarize the past 50 yrs., but I'll try! I graduated in 1971 from I.U. with a degree in teaching and later certification as a reading specialist. I moved to Indio, Calif. to teach before marrying my husband Jim who was in I.U. medical school at the time. We married in 1973 and moved to Jax., Fla. and Gainesville where he did his internship and further studies in cardiology. He started the Cheryl Neilson Heart Transplant Foundation in the 80's which was pretty novel at that time. We have 2 sons, 36 and 30 who are both living in Orlando. No grandchildren yet! Jim and I became involved in a non-denominational church while in Gainesville, Fla. Jim became involved in medical mission work and we both worked for HOPE Worldwide traveling to Cambodia, Brazil, Mexico, etc. We lead Bible studies and are active in the church here in Orlando. Yoga has become a part of my life the last 10 yrs. and Jim is still working full steam. No talk of retirement yet....but then, who knows? Looking forward to seeing everyone! |
